An Editorial Maternity Session with Floral Installations
There are sessions that feel beautiful—and then there are sessions that feel intentional.
This maternity session was both.
Charity Bennett, owner and floral artist behind He Loves Me Flowers by Charity, brought her vision into the studio in a way I’ll never forget. Instead of a traditional setup, she created a full greenery installation—soft, organic, and sculptural—transforming the space into something that felt editorial and deeply personal.
This was Charity’s first pregnancy, and I was incredibly honored to document it.
There’s something especially meaningful about photographing another creative during a season of becoming. Charity’s work has always carried a sense of tenderness—flowers that feel alive, imperfect in the best way, and deeply rooted in emotion. Seeing that same artistry woven into her maternity session made the experience feel less like a photo shoot and more like a collaboration.
The greenery framed her so naturally, almost as if it was growing toward her. Nothing felt forced. Nothing felt over-styled. It was quiet, strong, and full of anticipation—everything a maternity session should be.
Since this session, Charity has gone on to welcome two sweet boys, and looking back at these images now feels especially sacred. This season marked the beginning of her motherhood story, captured in a way that reflects who she is at her core—an artist, a nurturer, and a woman with a deep appreciation for beauty and meaning.
If you’re local and looking for florals that feel elevated, organic, and thoughtfully designed, I cannot recommend He Loves Me Flowers by Charity enough. Her work speaks for itself—and getting to witness it intersect with motherhood in this way was truly special.
Some sessions stay with you long after they’re photographed.
This one will always be one of mine.
